Master planning involving the rebuilding of a K-8 complex for 750 students on an existing 13.5 acre site. A centrally located amphitheater serves as the hub to which all buildings are connected through a unifying paving pattern and common tree type. Playgrounds stretch out along the landscape slopes which screen the adjacent roads from the campus. Drop-off areas for students are provided by means of turn-ins from the street for the safe queuing of vehicles. Characteristically low maintenance, drought tolerant and native plantings fill out the landscape, providing color, interest and a strong example of sustainable design to all those who visit the school.
