L.A. Design Associates was retained to design solutions to mitigate the effects of glare from surrounding buildings as well as the excessive solar gain in the highly exposed south-facing central quad. To improve user comfort, L.A. Design Associates provided gathering areas with shaded seating and designed shade structures strategically located in multiple locations. Also provided were raised planters, site furnishings and a perfect circle of usable greenspace for graduation ceremonies and miscellaneous school events.
